Dr. Jules Elliott Garbus is a board-certified general and colorectal surgeon with over 10 years of practice experience. Dr. Garbus holds hospital affiliations at Winthrop University Hospital, Mercy Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital/LIJ. Dr. Garbus currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery School of Medicine at SUNY Stony Brook and is Co-Chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Winthrop University Hospital.
Dr. Garbus graduated from the University of Health Sciences – Chicago Medical School, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, and completed his internship and residency training in General Surgery at North Shore University Hospital. For specialized training in Colon and Rectal Surgery, Dr. Garbus then completed a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Florida, as well as a course on Endorectal Ultrasonography. His work has appeared in countless publications and presentations on the latest surgical developments and he has been recognized as one of America’s Top Surgeons and is in Strathmore’s Who’s Who for his accomplishments and skill as a surgeon.
